Review of Midnight Express (1978) by Calvin M — 25 Oct 2010
I just rented it from Blockbuster. It's the first time I've ever seen it, however, I did see the National Geographic special, Locked Up Abroad where they profiled the real life story.
For its' time (1978), it's a very good dark psychological drama that sends a strong message (or warning, if you will) to U.S. travelers who plan to go overeas into a foreign country. I did not realize that Oliver Stone, famous for Platoon & Natural Born Killers, wrote the screenplay based on the book of the same name.
If you are a big fan of movies like this, then you should go to Blockbuster (or Netflix) & check it out.
