Review of Metal: A Headbanger's Journey (2005) by Daniel S — 16 Jun 2007
A MUST SEE for a metal-head. Although I felt like he tried to cover too much. Studying metal is a huge social/anthropological endeavor and his attempt is well worth watching, but is by no means completely authoritive or ultimate.
A metal-head's MUST SEE, but take it with a grain of salt. Highlights are Alice Cooper, Dee Snider and of course Slayer's Kerry King & Tom Araya. Would have been interesting to see follow-ups concentrating on particular "branches" of metal (i.
E. only trash or only black or only death etc).
