Review of Metal: A Headbanger's Journey (2005) by Garth D — 20 Jun 2008
Metal is a prett decent sort of Metal 101 but doesn't go nearly deep enough. 3 stars.
Global Metal, the sequel is more of what I was hoping for in the first movie, with Sam Dunn exploring the metal scene in several different countries around the world. Again, like Metal, I wish it was more in-depth (and I would have liked a segment on Norwegian Black Metal and it's controversy), but it was still pretty cool flick. My main complaint is that, well, it wasn't a lot longer. I think each of these countries could easily support a full-length movie by themselves. 4 stars.
