Melancholia is written and directed by Lars von Trier. Starring Kirsten Dunst, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and Kiefer Sutherland. A Danish production with international co-producers in Sweden, France, Germany and Italy.
It's a story about emotionally stricken young woman (Kirsten Dunst) and her wealthy sister (Charlotte Gainsbourg) who are confronting the the approaching apocalypse.
Phew!!! If only the world was to end this way, then nobody would have to fear instant death, and problems should be resolved in a jiffy. On account of putting my trust in German Romanticism, which Lars von Trier the director of the film has mentioned, he profoundly followed to maintain its essence in his film; and by (his) doing so I accept this film positively. I am not in mood to disrepute this film by questioning the aimless approach to nearing the climax! Dunst's performance was average, let's be frank.
NOTE: I'd love if somebody let me know the logic behind such poster of the film!
