Review of Meet Me in St. Louis (1944) by Alison P — 28 Jun 2008
Wonderful musical starring Judy Garland about five years after her Oz fame.
The musical is not as corny as it could have been, and the musical numbers are memorable and lovable (especially The Trolley Song, which I've been singing since my viewing).
If your disc has the 5-minute introduction by Liza Minelli (the director's and Garland's daughter), definitely have a peek at that (but do it after the film if you have never seen it before because it gives away vital plot points).
If you watch Yankee Doodle Dandy on the 4th of July, you will want to watch this at Christmas.
