Review of Meek's Cutoff (2011) by Peter P — 12 Jun 2011
This is how it was. The ladies didn't ride in the buckboard, but trudged behind to save the oxen who were more important than they. They were walking to Oregon. Ten miles was a good day.
The cinematography displays the shattering aloneness of the western plains, and the small group who leave the main trail for a promised short cut.
Not one moment of this film seems forced, and the conclusion is as debateable as 'The Lady or the Tiger?' See this film!
