Review of Meek's Cutoff (2011) by Gerry R — 18 Jun 2014
Watching this movie as a western is like watching "2001" as a sci-fi movie. It's slow, ponderous, strongly naturalistic and takes some patience watching. But the ride is very rewarding, and Reichardt proves she has a masterful director's hand.
See this if you want to see what a Malick remake of a John Ford film might be like.
