Review of Medicine Man (1992) by Stu C — 06 Apr 2008
Looks surprisingly dated now, even though its set in the middle of a rainforest! This is still a worthy Sunday afternoon's hangover viewing though.
The subject matter is laughable and the film generally tries to go beyond its own moral station (especially at the end) but as a Michael Crichton style storyline it is generally passable. Take it with a pinch of salt and it's definitely watchable.
Lorraine Bracco and Sean Connery are both as stead as ever (if you can avoid laughing at Bracco's glasses)...and the scenery is worth watching on its own.
