Review of Medicine Man (1992) by Tero H — 18 Oct 2012
Interesting idea, about saving nature and the rainforests. The importance of nature is underlined by the fact that many medicinal plants and so on can be found from the forests, and the movie theme is nice that way. Sean Connery acts well. The female-character is annoying.
I liked the grand music and the great outdoors scenes. But, the story is very simple, and doesn't really lead to that much in the end of the film. Despite nice intentions, and an interesting topic, it doesn't give its message out clearly or loudly enough, it remains a bit too mild in my view.
Interesting idea, biochemistry has potential, more jungle adventures could have been possible.. but it somehow remains a bit tame. Still, better than the average Hollywood films I have seen.
