Review of Mean Streets (1973) by Mack E — 20 Jun 2008
This movie seems to exist so that it could be played at all-night theaters in Times Square. Wander in at any point and see Harvey Keitel walking around Little Italy for what seems like an eon. It looks interesting, and some pieces are fine on their own, but it adds up to zero.
However, had I been near Times Square in 1973, this would have been the movie I ducked into to have intimate relations, because I would have been too distracted by Return of the Dragon or The Exorcist.
