Review of Mean Streets (1973) by Ross M — 01 Jul 2008
Compelling performances and a nice, simple story. Although not lengthy, it feels at some times rather long, but all of the fast paced scenes (especially the end), more than make up for it.
Scorsese directs very well and his use of music was great. Some very funny one-liners eazes the tension a bit, which was great. Not as well structured as Taxi Driver or Goodfellas but not badly stuctured enough to actually ruin the film.
Scorsese does it again! Another masterpiece.
