Review of Mean Streets (1973) by Cong Han L — 14 Sep 2008
It feels staggeringly personal, and that's what makes it all the more tragic. We get drawn into the lives of these hoods who aren't your one-dimensional cliche ambitious or heroic types, but rather normal people trying to live out their lives.
The theme of redemption might be a bit too in-your-face, but it all adds to the natural and raw feel.
