Review of Mean Streets (1973) by Frank M — 04 Apr 2010
Although not as polished as his other work Mean Streets is rough & raw. Scorsese's script sometimes shimmers w/ brilliance getting the most out of his cast especially Keitel & De Niro combined w/ one of the best soundtrax going.
Scenes like De Niro's entrance to Jumpin Jack Flash & Keitel drunken escapade set to Rubber Biscuit send me into a cinema swill..My 2nd favorite Scorsese flix behind Goodfellas but it's still a groundbreaking masterpiece.
