Review of Me and Earl and the Dying Girl (2015) by Nathan M — 03 Jul 2015
Witty, visually crafty, and full of strong performances, #meearlandthedyinggirl is the strongest film in the "young people with cancer" genre that I've seen, simply because it utilizes its "self-aware" conventions to its fullest potential.
Even if it gets a little too cute for its own good, the power of the storytelling techniques employed by Gomez-Rejon leave a lasting impact on the viewer.
