A funny, deeply affecting comedy-drama about the trials of growing up (and having to do so faster than expected). Despite the picture's YA protagonists, this is anything but YA fare, incisively written and with smart portrayals beyond the performers' years.

The film takes viewers on an emotional rollercoaster ride through a series of highs and lows, all filled with wit and an array of clever, laugh-out-loud classic film references. Keep those hankies handy, too.
