Review of Me and Earl and the Dying Girl (2015) by Tor M — 10 Jan 2018
Some geeky guy gets to know a girl named Rachel. She is fighting canser and is not having the greatest of times. Greg, our geek, never really knew Rachel that well, but they bond after her diagnosis. He makes film with his mate Earl and sometimes the three are all togheter. Greg is like the smart cool dude, but he hates everyone around him so people tend to stay away from him. As we get to know him, and the other two leads, you get a feeling that you're bonding with them quite well.
A film that's filled with movie references - posters and the films the guys are making together - remade movies with stupid names. A sweet and funny film, quirky but at times really funny and naturally pretty sad too - there's canser here, man.
6.5 out of 10 soups.
