Review of McCabe & Mrs. Miller (1971) by Nate E — 25 Aug 2008
Altman plays in the Western genre with great success. Beatty and Christie nail their roles as co-owners of an upstart high-class brothel. A slow mood building first 15 minutes sets the stage for a riveting tale of a shrewd independent businessman being muscled out by corporate thugs.
As usual in Altman's films, the supporting cast is terrific. Prepare for a violent haunting climax.
