Review of Matinee (1993) by Sam I — 07 Jul 2006
Joe Dante affectionately spoofs 50's sci fi (MANT) as well as telling an affecting coming of age story set around the cuban missile crisis. The elements of the film blend well, the kids are excellent and John Goodman is simply perfect as the William Castle alike producer.
Dante's most underrated film and perhaps his best.
