Review of Mask (1985) by Eric T — 24 Apr 2010
My introduction to the talents of Eric Stoltz.
This is an emotional, loosely adapted true story that, as good as it is, might have been better served as an idie production. Not surprisingly, Universal Studios spruced it up, polished it, sugar-coated it, and eliminated about 50% of that pesky little nuisance known as honest truth. Leave it to Hollywood to snatch mediocrity from the jaws of brilliance.
