Review of Masculin Féminin (1966) by Codie E — 23 Feb 2008
I can respect what Godard was doing, and his nods to film form and some very topical conversation hidden behind a lot of pop culture and social observation. But I just have very little interest in the way he goes about it.
The concious sound drops and 'bad edits' are poor ways of highlighting film form and the easy going conversations have been done more interestingly and more engaging in my opinion (see Richard Linklater).
This is just not my cup of tea.
