Refreshing movie about the 60's, the time of utter confusion. Godard's film captures the zeitgeist of those times excellently. All now familiar themes, some of them developed into diseases of our society now, were on the rise back then; it's interesting to witness a film from the 60's about the 60's.

Young people don't know what to do with their freedom, they have to rebel against something, but some of them don't how so they get frustrated with life. Paul is an activist who is trying to create tight bonds with his girlfriend who is actually a complete opposite to him, she is not interested in anything besides her music career.

And here is Catherine who is in love with Paul but he doesn't respond to her advances. Of course the film is not about the intrigues of love, it's more a like a cross section of the French\European society, the rising influence of American culture etc.

The film was shot in an interesting documentary style implementing also such techniques as interviewing the main characters about their views on different current topics.
