Review of Mary Reilly (1996) by Patric C — 04 May 2011
Can you spell AWFUL? A badly acted melodrama where half the time the dialogue is philosophical gibberish that makes no sense ("You might call it a fracture in my soul, something which left me with a taste for oblivion.
" WTF?), and while the theme of sexual repression may fit well the film does nothing but explore that. Tries, and fails, to be a gothic romance.
