Review of Mary Reilly (1996) by Jerem M — 21 Nov 2012
Silly version of the Jeckyll/Hyde story only because the casting is terrible. Julia Roberts attempts an Irish brogue but just isn't capable. And the otherwise competent Malkovich is hammy (as he can sometimes be) as Dr.
Jeckyll, barely even trying to sound British. If it was an all-British/Irish cast, it might have been a quality gothic horror piece.
