To be prepared for Saving Mr. Banks I had to finally see the film that inspired it. I must say that the technical achievement in making Mary Poppins is amazing considering the time period and most of the songs are fantastic, but everything else with the movie was almost unwatchable.
This was a pretty big disappointment and surprise to me. I guess you just had to grow up with it and have a high tolerance for 1960's family entertainment acting styles.
