Review of Mary Poppins (1964) by Filipeneto — 21 Aug 2018
This is one of the most celebrated and acclaimed musical films ever created in that it mixes comedy, music, animation and joy in the right measure. Julie Andrews carries the film on her back thanks to the enormous talent she demonstrates every minute.
She is truly great in the main character. Beside her, Dick Van Dyke is the strongest male character with a contagious joy. The script is very good and tells the story of an enchanted nanny who entertains and teaches two children, changing even the life of the whole family.
The film is full of great songs that have become immortal and constitute one of the best movie soundtracks of all time. A great movie for the whole family, timeless and worthy of being on the shelf of any home.
