Review of Mary and Max (2009) by Bradley H — 02 Jun 2011
A film that is both heartwarming and heartbreaking. Its the classic story of two unlikely people becoming friends but here it is done differently with the dialogue mostly told through a narrator or Mary and Max's letters.
The claymation is very well done in this movie and the design is done in a different way and it sill is great looking. When this film is funny it can be very funny and when it is sad it can be very emotional.
Despite this movie being animated it is not a kids film there are some dark themes in this movie like mental disease, death, and suicide. But in all honesty after watching this film it has become one of my new favorite animated films.
In my opinion it is right up there with any film by Pixar or Disney.
