Review of Married Life (2008) by Daniel C — 30 Jul 2008
The film itself is pretty good. I enjoyed it a lot, even though we saw it in a funny little studio cinema at the trak - though at least we were the only ones in it so we could chat. What's great though, is the costumes and the decor and the scenery - it all looks very lavish - I was so distracted by the items - the great stuff on the mantlepieces, pictures, clocks, phones, tea cups and glassware - gorgeous couches, footstalls and cushions.
I love that era, the dreses, the hats the red lipstick. If you are a girl who likes these things you can enjoy this film just for its visual style. Seriously though, the story is a little slow but the performances are solid enough.
Worth a look if you can stand the little cinema. Don't think its showing anywhere else in Adelaide!
