Review of Maria Full of Grace (2004) by Chetana S — 07 Jul 2009
This breath catching movie brings to light the much talked of but less shown life of the Latino Americans: underage workers at factories, drug trafficking, pregnancy, etc. When Maria, a 17 year old, enters the harsh world of drug trafficking to make an easy buck, one understands how risky the entire business is; and it's not only the drug-takers who are threatened but also those are associated with it.
The movie made me feel sad: to know that there is someone of your age walking around with drug pellets in their stomach is simply depressing.
