Review of Marathon Man (1976) by Amy W — 01 Mar 2009
An interesting film about a Columbia graduate student who wrongly accused of having information about an old Nazi's hidden fortune. He is tortured and harrased for information he doesnt even know. Its a pretty cool thriller with a great performance by Hoffman.
Schlesinger does some pretty cool things to heighten the tension with his camerawork but the whole basic story just doesnt really appeal to me. It just feels a little far fetched. I love the intercut footage of Babe's childhood.
Very cool stuff.
