This right here is my all time favorite slasher film it tops all of the Jason,Freddy and Michael Myers films sure some of you would disagree but to me this film to me was just great I mean the villain of this film was such an unexpected killer a Police officer one of the boys in blue who are supposed to protect us not butcher us on the streets but this film said lets take something good and make it evil and it worked great and in this film it stared one of the most recognized actors in horror none other than Bruce "Mother Fucking" Campbell of Evil Dead this is the guy who went Chuck Norris on the demons of hell now he's taking on a six foot psycho that can't be kill.

..Jason Vs Ash anyone? As for the Maniac Cop AKA Matt Cordell played by Robert Z'Dar who had fantastic body language almost as good as Kane Hodder I liked the angle they took with him the classic motive of revenge I mean this was a great cop did a lot of good for the NYC in the film and how does the city repay him? By framing him and sending up the river to Sing Sing Prison where he get cut to ribbons in the shower by the other inmates and it was pretty brutal I mean they carved this guys face up like a pumpkin now it is not known how he survived the attack but it is elaborated later on in the series something about voodoo or some such bullshit.

Now the following two films in the series go a little down hill because while the 1st half of part 2 is classic Maniac cop then it kinda becomes like Batman and Robin you know if they were to become mass murdering psychos and part 3 was also kinda weak throughout but hey at least it had Jackie Earl Haley who was just fantastic and they made the films worth watching even if just for some mild entertainment value but the one thing I must say I like most about the Maniac cop trilogy is the fact that even the main characters get killed off and that always adds interest to any horror film.

I'm the Inglourious Critic I give movies the response the deserve good night and enjoy the show.
