Review of Manhattan (1979) by Lisa P — 02 Nov 2008
Somehow the idea of Woody Allen dating a seventeen year old on screen must have appealed him to off screen. Let's not forget that Diane Keaton's character is perhaps a little too self-important for me to sympathize. Ohhhh dear....
Still, the film's central character could very well be New York. I adore the whole mise en scene of this project: the black and white photography, and Gershwin's iconic music playing throughout.
