Review of Manhattan (1979) by Mcfade — 26 Mar 2021
Easily one of the very best films of the 1970s. Woody Allen confidently keeps the comedy and drama in perfect balance while coaxing luminous turns from Diane Keaton, Meryl Streep, and Mariel Hemingway.
George Gershwin's legendary music combined with Gordon Willis'genius cinematography perfectly captures New York's energy and essence; it will never again be this romantic.
