Review of Man with a Movie Camera (1929) by Irvin C — 20 May 2008
An extraordinary motion picture in every sense of the word. Is this a documentary? Well, sort of, kind of. It is an experimental film which pretty much deconstructs the medium into it's purest essentials.
The way it plays around with cinematography and editing as it films a montage of everyday life in Russia is nothing short of mesmerizing. It's a must-see for any serious student or lover of cinema.
