Review of Man with a Movie Camera (1929) by Joshua G — 16 Aug 2015
While important for all of film history, I love this movie because of it's personal impact on me. What was this impact? It introduced me to a whole genre of avant-garde cinema! I never knew you could make a film like this! Now, I've seen tons of experimental cinema, from Stan Brakhage to David Lynch!
What about the film's content? It is absolutely amazing! The visuals are beautiful and creative, and perfectly shows city life without any sign of of a script or story! But, hey, who needs those?
