Review of Man Bites Dog (1992) by André Ø — 21 Mar 2008

I don't see the point with this movie. Sure, it's provoking, innovative and well made, but so what? I'm not seeing the entertainment value, unless you're into snuff movies. I've seen plenty of shocking movies.

This one doesn't even come close to the worst on my list, but it will probably shock most average moviegoers. Graphic rape and child murder are just some of the things you have to endure. Not to say that this movie don't have a few bright spots.

The main character does a very good job portraying this madman, and there's several funny moments in between the horror. It's a movie that you will either love or hate, as it's impossible to keep an indifferent opinion of it.

I found it interesting, but at the same time boring. Strange perhaps, then again, so is the movie.
