Review of Man Bites Dog (1992) by Al M — 18 Apr 2008
Brutal, funny, thought-provoking, hardcore independent. The list of adjectives for Man Bites Dog could go on indefinitely. Brilliant deconstruction of the media's fascination with violence and killers and a stark comment upon the thinness of the line between voyeurism and actual participation.
The filmmakers increasingly cross this line as they more and more come in front of the camera instead of staying safely behind it. The film forces us to question whether we would cross the same line as easily as Andre and Remy do.
