Review of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018) by Audrey M — 20 Jul 2018
As a fan of the first I have to say my expectations were far too higher for the second. This movies has so many inconsistencies with the first film, it's as if the writers never even watched the first before writing the script for the second .
The singing was relitivly good but the was an over abundance of songs that didn't belong and a complete lack of story. I get that it's a musical but there is significantly less dialogue than the first which makes the story choppy and underwhelming.
They casted the movie well, but the entire thing seemed to center around Cher which is utterly ridiculous since she made an apperarance for a grand total of five minuets of the entire film. This movie has to be one of the worse sequels I have ever seen.
Not because of the acting, but because they have forgotten the true meaning of what a musical should be in order to jam as many remade songs into 1 hour and 50 minuets on the big screen. I wouldn't recommend wasting you money at the theater.
