Review of Make Way for Tomorrow (1937) by Gregory S — 23 Feb 2009
WHY DOESNT THIS MOVIE HAVE A DVD RELEASE!!!!!!!??????? this is one of the best films of the 30s and possibly of all time. I have yet to see a film - not by Ozu - that better captures familial ignorance and parental hubris.
moore and bondi were remarkably restrained and subtle. moore's delivery of his goodbye to bondi got almost made me cry. so sad.
