Review of Make Way for Tomorrow (1937) by Alex S — 08 Aug 2015
Leo McCarey somehow finds a way to make one of the funniest movies ever (Duck Soup) and one of the saddest movies ever in this one. Make Way for Tomorrow doesn't give the audience a shred of inspiration as there is a constant dread shadowed over the entire feature.
The acting is terrific, the characters are brutally realistic and it leads to a depressing, yet incredibly powerful feature.
