Review of Magnolia (1999) by Justin T — 13 Mar 2014
I don't throw out the term perfect movie often, but this is one of them. Paul Thomas Anderson is the best contemporary director in cinema. This tale of parental/child neglect and the repercussions is masterfully told and paced.
the acting is the best i've seen from an ensemble piece, highlighted by Tom Cruise, Phillip Baker Hall and Melora Walters. This is without a doubt one of the most heartbreaking movies made, overflowing with regret.
