This movie had me feeling uncomfortable right from the beginning, and I mean that in the best possible way. The atmosphere is tense and layered with fear, but not for us. It's our fear for Alicia, for what she is around when she's so far from home, for what she perceives, for her lack of sleep and for her health.

We fear for this shy girl who is way out of her element and who seemingly by the minute is losing her grasp on reality. Magic Magic is a fantastically acted movie, it is incredibly directed with a strange tone and un-easiness to it from the first shot to the last.

And how fitting it is then that the ending leaves us not sure of what is next either.
