Review of Mad God (2021) by Bertobellamy — 28 Jun 2022
'Mad God' is a bizarre experiment that takes you to a world full of all the ¿human? fluids you could ever imagine. Through a nightmarish setting and some disturbing images, the legendary Phil Tippet delivers what could probably be the culmination of his brilliant career. But, at least for me, this is too impenetrable to get involved. A little narrative would've been nice. The stop-motion looks amazing and terrifying, but the live-action segments didn't blend in that well. Although I appreciate the 30-year effort to bring this to life, I didn't find it that special, at least in storytelling terms. But who am I to criticize one of the best film animators of all time?
Warning: don't watch this while eating.
