Review of Machuca (2004) by Reynald C — 15 Dec 2006
Friends and I watched this to allow Pinochet's death to have a bit more gravitas -- and after watching this, it sure does. This film is one of those things that make you go "why won't everybody get along?".
I liked how this movie dealt with the unfair class division in Chile by focusing on children on their most impressionable age. This movie is quite disturbing and what's even more disturbing is that its themes are still as poignant today as the era it was depicting.
