"Machete" aims to please audiences with cheesy exploitation and over-the-top gore. And the problem here is that the film hits its high point in the first 30 minutes. After that, there's definitely a sufficient amount of cheese, but none of the exploitation rises above simple satire, and the gore is only mildly impressive.
