The misty Scottish highlights add atmosphere and provide the fodder for some outstanding cinematography to stylistically capture the violence at the heart of the Shakespearean tragedy, however, the changes made to the original text, mean that this is at the expense of its supernatural themes.
Even from Michael Fassbender's lips, every moment of overdramatic dialogue delivery seems agonisingly pensive.
