Review of M (1931) by Nate C — 17 Apr 2011
Lang's most influential film, and without all of the "trash" that marked his earlier and even later works. Part cop drama, part psychological thriller, the darker the film gets, the most into it you are.
Peter Lorre may not be the most menacing serial killer in cinema history, but his boyish charm and youthful persona make his identity as the killer all the more shocking, and when he starts whistling, you always end up *****ing a brick.
