Review of M (1931) by Matt M — 07 Jun 2013
I like intelligence, darkness, and morality. I like movies that challenge convention and the viewer. If these are found in places they're not supposed to be, if the enemy is truly our friend and the friend's worth is questioned, this speaks of greatness.
M is a masterpiece for all of these reasons, and for its slick, beautiful black and white and its rich mis-en-scene.
