Review of Lymelife (2008) by Kendall R — 11 Apr 2009
Coming of age shouldn't be this hard but it is. Realistic acting, dialogue and reactions add shades to this dark film of suburban life in Long Island. A few moments will make you smile but the film can hardly be called a comedy.
The quirkiness that seems to be a prerequisite these days for any slice of life film is barely present which is welcome. But after seeing American Beauty, one can only wonder if the last two minutes of the film are a cop out or a revelation.
