Review of Lust for Life (1956) by Cle S — 24 May 2014
Interesting depiction of one of art's most misunderstood geniuses. Vincent Van Gogh, the Dutch painter who only sold one painting (!) during his lifetime, is ambitiously portrayed by Kirk Douglas, Anthony Quinn stars as Paul Gaugin, another well-known artist of this epoch.
Beside the strong performances, it's the beautiful scenery which makes this a recommendable biopic.
