Review of Lust for Life (1956) by John W — 24 Apr 2015
Starring Kirk Douglas and Anthony Quinn. This dramatization of the popular Vincent Van Gogh biography is surely one of the great studies of how tortured an artist's soul can be. Douglas was never better, while Quinn won an Oscar and steals the show as Van Gogh's friend, the painter Paul Gaugin.
Directed by Vincente Minnelli.
